On the 11th of April, 2016, Yvonne Bradford (President) and Patrick Williams (Zone 8) representing the Clare District LIONS Club signed an agreement that will see the LIONS Club deliver turn-key traffic management services to the Clare Valley Cruise in exchange for a proportion of ticket revenue.
The agreement is a sustainable pathway towards a meaningful revenue stream that will allow the Clare LIONS Club to continue their rich history of charitable work in the region.
In the region, the Clare LIONS Club has historically provided traffic management services for a variety of community events such as the Annual Clare Show and the Clare Christmas Pageant. LIONS Club members work closely with, and are trained for traffic management activities in conjunction with SA Police’s Clare Station.
Under the agreement, LIONS Club will provide three key traffic management services including:
– the delivery of the Road Management Plan,
– a dedicated Senior Road Marshal for the Event,
– the Operation of Closed Road Checkpoints during the Event Sessions.
Retiring SA Police officer in Charge of Clare Station and longstanding Lions Club member Stuart Paxton will be undertaking the role of Senior Road Marshal for the Clare Valley Cruise.
